Rethinking History

Lately I’ve been working on reading the tome by Doris Kearns Goodwin: The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys.  It has been on my reading list for years and finally found a discarded copy and began to read it.  I love reading books by Ms. Goodwin because she writes history in a way that tells a story and makes people come alive.  Ms. Goodwin is most widely known for her work on Abraham Lincoln.

Right now I’m only a few chapters in.  From the beginning one is hooked.  There is always so much more to stories than is commonly revealed and Ms. Goodwin brings that out about the Fitzgerald and Kennedy clans.  I’m actually going to stop right now and pick it up.  I can’t wait to keep reading it.
