Survival is an everything and everyday preoccupation.

Survival is a picture of a jungle far away yet in reality survival is also in the concrete jungle.

We fight and must fight for our survival.  We are told we must learn a skill, a trade, get an education for our survival.

We must rely on people, most of whom we don’t know or will never see, for our survival. Have you met the person who grows your food?

Survival is bills, gas for the car, grocery shopping.

Survival is different for every animal, every species.

Survival is adaptation and adoption.

  1. Yes, Ange, I agree, we do need one another to make it through the everyday ups and downs.
Survival is also, feeling good about ourselves, and overcoming difficulties.
I know I can sometimes feel like I don’t know if I’ll survive, especially when I have too much on my plate. The entire day can go by without a chance to take a break.
Along the same lines, it is amazing what a smile or a good word can make in our lives and the lives of others. If we treat one another with dignity, care, compassion, empathy we know how it affects us and we can more often than not see a positive response from other beings. If, on the other hand, we treat others with vitriol we can see their response as well, but it might be in the shape of discomfort, pain, even revenge.
So how we choose to act as we go about in survival mode can truly impact other beings, even this big beautiful earth.

Thanks for the food for thought, Ange. You always help me reflect.
