Daily Prompt: Passenger

via Daily Prompt: Passenger

To be a passenger is to be at someone else’s mercy, so to speak.  You are along for the ride.  Like most words, this has both the literal and physical meanings.

Many years ago when I did some traveling, I spent many hours being a passenger using different modes of transportation.  It was great because there was a chance to interact with people and see all of the people who were going in the same direction as yourself but would soon scatter to their different destinations.

One has to surrender a certain amount of control when being a passenger.

Now I do most of the driving, the conduction of the vehicle, and other people are my passengers?

How many modes of transportation are called passenger cars, vans, taxis, planes, trains, etc?

We are all passengers of life.  We all have some sort of passage that we go through, sometimes once and sometimes again and again.

Do you prefer to be a passenger or a conductor?
